Came across a pretty cool site on Hacker News that visually goes through the SHA-256 algorithm step-by-step: SHA-256 Visualized

This is the hash function Bitcoin uses to generate addresses because the total combinations of hashes that can be uniquely generated is insanley large. Almost impossible to create the same address. The odds are like picking an atom in the visible unverse, then someone else picking that same atom. You have better odds seeing your favorite sports team win a championship in your lifetime. Sorry Bengals fans I don't think they'll win it this year…

How secure is 256 bit security?

I guess there is some kind of beauty in the numbers.
It is so huge that humans can't even grasp the concept.
